Fish Porn

Photo Aug 20, 15 46 06I can always well when we have fully embraced a sport. First it was climbing videos, part motivation and a good chunk eye candy. It didn’t matter if it was rock, ice, mountains or building—if it had climbing we were into it. We started building that porn collection pretty quickly. Then it was skiing, and let me tell you those lines down the snowy mountains are sexy. And there’s a surprising amount of bare skin for a cold weather activity. Paddle porn came next. Watery ambitions, silky smooth lakes or ruckus whitewater lines, it is all sensual and titillating. It reminds me a lot of the ski movies. We do like a good backpacking flick and own an assortment—Southbounders and Mile … Mile & A Half are two of my favorites. We are looking forward to Wild.

That brings me to fishing. Technically you could look back to our short dating history and find some fish porn. One of our first dates was Legends of the Fall with some very sexy Brad Pitt trout fishing. We have been meaning to watch that again now that we’re throwing flies on water. We were showing signs of fanaticism with fishing when we first saw The River Why, a gorgeous tale of Gus the fish whisperer and elusive Eddy. We just watched that again for about the fifth time the other day. Then we had to get Salmon Fishing in Yemen. But the real sign I’ve got it bad is that I’m acquiring a collection of you tube links for fly patterns I want to tie, and my first fly tying DVD. Hey, it’s rife with whip finishes and feathers. That’s sassy.

It’s hopeless. Our library continues to grow in direct correlation to our gear, as it should be.
